If you have forgotten the security password for your device and there is no other way to perform the hard reset you should try uploading a new firmware on your NOKIA 5310 XpressMusic. That way you will restore the default password but also lose all data on your device. In the following tutorial we present step by step how to perform such an operation. Please be aware of the consequences and risks that may be result from this process. Phoenix Service Software is a useful flashing which you may use on your NOKIA5310 XpressMusic when:. Make sure your battery is charged and your firmware is appropriate. Afterwards dowload the Phoenix software. You can find it here:.
Make sure you have the other equipment: USB cable for your phone, Nokia Connectivity Cable Drivers, software files for your phone. For a precaution back up your files and take out any microSD cards. Connect your phone to your PC using the Micro USB cable. When your computer detects the new device, select the PC Suite or OVI Suite on your phone. Try changing the USB port. DO NOT use any extention cords or hubs. It is very important to connect your device directly (in case of a stationary computer the best way is to connect it in the back).
Finally, in case nothing else works, you may try installing softwares with many different product codes (not neccesserily only Polish ones). You can also try using Dead USB in JAF.
You are right updating can be risky, in this forum I have heard about people whom update failed and the only solution was to send their phone back to nokia. And I don't have any important issue with my 5310 so I will probably follow your advice still some updates does'nt only fixes issues but also improves or add new things to the fimeware (for example previous updates for the 5310 significantly improved the sound of the loudspeaker). That's why it would be helpful if anybody could give me some feedback for this update V09.42. After I've updated my firmware from 8.32 to 09.42 it keeps ask me for a password to acces the memory card! I did NOT had any password on it! When i tryed to read info about the MMC it says Free Memory 0.0 kB,Used Memory 0.0 Total Memory 0.0!!! It's a 2 GB MMC that came with the phone.
I've tried all default passwords: 0000,1234,5. Nothing worked! I mean.bleep.This should be secure no?! Now i cannot acces my MMC.Then again i'm NOT too sure that it's still working!
Sry my bad english. Ok so I had to bring my nokia phone for repair at Nokia site.
I told them I didn't want a software flash since the problem is hardware (Keypad). Anyway after I got my phone back they did in deed change the firmware (VERY ANNOYING ESPECIALLY I TOLD THEM NOT TO).
Now my phone does not go to idle mode. Normally both power save and sleep mode are turned on. After a few seconds the phone goes to idle mode where the screen is completely black. Now the phone's keypad swiches off its lights (I suspects thats sleep mode?) then the screen goes dark but I can still see my wallpaper (I suspect thats power mode?) but it doesn't go complete dark - idle mode. Is this the new firmware 9.42 causing this? How do I fix this?
How do I make the phone go to idle mode? Like to also add screensaver does not work, the screen saver does not show up. I reinstall the new firmware myself as I thought Nokia somehow messed up but this hasn't solved it.
